See the great sites of the Mile High City on each leg – from Empower Field at Mile High to the Confluence, Sloan’s Lake, downtown, or the neighborhoods around Colfax – which leg of the relay will you run?
The Open Division is for a team of any 5 runners. Friends, family, running clubs, runners running for the same charity or clients/customers. All teams that do not qualify to be in the Corporate, Government or Public School Teacher Division are in the Open Division.

- Pick a captain to register your team (male, female, coed).
- Register (you don’t have to know all 5 runners when you register)
- Check out the Relay Legs such as Screaming Downhill, Downtown River Trek.

Win Money for Charity & Awards
Marathon Relay teams compete for $100,000 in awards for charity. The Open Division has awards for the Top 3 male, female and coed teams. Top teams designate one of our eligible Charity Partners as a recipient. Times are based on chip time. You must have 5 runners to be eligible for awards, and a coed team must have at least 1 runner of each sex and a total of 5 runners. A runner may not run on 2 different teams. Run For Charity
Run for one of the largest Charity Partner programs in the country! Over 200 charities participate each year. Choose a charity and their cause to run for when you register and they will contact you.
Packet Pick Up & Race Day Logistics
Relay Team Packet Pick Up Friday and Saturday before the race at the Cigna Denver Colfax Marathon Expo. No Race Day Packet Pick Up. Detailed race day logistics for each Relay Leg and RELAY TEAM INSTRUCTIONS will be posted early May. And, the Relay Zone at the expo will have experts to answer last-minute questions.
