Bates Philanthropic Initiative (BPI)
At the Bates Philanthropic Initiative (BPI), we firmly believe that everyone deserves access to excellent education, regardless of their circumstances. In Colorado, many gifted yet financially disadvantaged young people find themselves at a crossroads, torn between fulfilling their basic needs and pursuing an education that can truly change their lives. With over 75% of Colorado jobs requiring some post-secondary training, the urgency is clear: without further education, many face difficulties making a living wage. We provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors with a financial need who are pursuing post-secondary certifications, associate degrees, and apprenticeships in skills-based fields.
In addition to scholarships, BPI provides grants to nonprofit partners that deliver critical wrap-around services like transportation, childcare, language support, and mentoring to these financially disadvantaged young adults.
