Fr. Woody’s Haven of Hope

Father Woody’s recently completed a building expansion project and is now able to serve up to 800 meals a day! Our meals are served in a restaurant-style setting and each client is treated as a restaurant patron, restoring dignity and hope. Along with providing food, Father Woody’s offers other services that meet tangible needs such as providing clothing, showers, toiletries, over the counter medication, etc. In the very near future Father Woody’s will be equipped to offer even more services such as a dental clinic, eye clinic, pet clinic, mental health services, an on-site dietitian, nurse and VA representative, legal assistance, and NA/AA meetings. Father Woody’s is also expanding the employment readiness program to include services such as a computer lab and computer training, money management classes, dress for success and a semi-annual job fair. The hunger relief program provides for the immediate needs of Denver’s homeless population, but also serves as an entry point for clients to receive other necessary services such as those mentioned above. Tom Kearin is an example of the profound individual impact Father Woody’s has had in empowering the homeless to attain self-sufficiency. Once homeless, Tom now works in the Haven of Hope kitchen five days a week, helping prepare 800 meals a day for the homeless in Denver.  For more information about our involvement with the Colfax Marathon, contact Ann Potarf,
