Government Relay has been divided into two separate divisions - public school teachers and government
Our participation has grown so we are separating the Government Relay into two divisions – Government and Public School Teachers. More prize money for charities and public schools!
In the Government division your team can win money for charity. Government teams must have at least 3 employees (or elected officials) of the same government entity, and any non-employees must be immediate family members.
In the Public Schools Division your team is made up of employees from the same K-12 public school, and you can win money for your school.

How to purchase entries and get organized!
HR DIRECTORS – You can buy multiple registrations all at once for your employees and teams. And, if your organization has FOUR or more relay teams, you can have a company party at the Finish Line – information will be emailed to team captains of qualifying teams in late April or early May.
TEAM CAPTAINS – You can register your team, and enter the runners’ names later! Your 5-person team can be coed, male, or female. City, state, federal employees are all eligible.

Win Money for Charity - and Bragging Rights
Compete for more than $100,000 in awards for charity – 60 top teams designate one of our eligible Charity Partners as a recipient. Check out the 2022 winners in Government. Times are based on chip time. Government teams must have a total of 5 runners with at least 3 employees (or elected officials) of the same government entity, and any non-employees must be immediate family members.
School districts, special districts, city, state, federal employees are all eligible. NOTE — school coaches must be employees with district ID. NOTE – if your team is all employees from the same K-12 Public school your team should enter the Public Schools Division.
Run for a Nonprofit
Run for one of the largest Charity Partner programs in the country! Over 200 charities participate each year. Choose a charity to run for when you register, and they will contact you.
Packet Pick Up & Race Day Logistics
Relay Team Packet Pick Up Friday and Saturday before the race at the Cigna Denver Colfax Marathon Expo. No Race Day Packet Pick Up. Detailed race day logistics for each Relay Leg and RELAY TEAM INSTRUCTIONS will be posted early May. And, the Relay Zone at the expo will have experts to answer last-minute questions.
